Historical Journey of the Indian Cricket Team 

The Indian cricket team played the first match on 25th June 1932. The match was played against England at Lord’s Cricket Stadium. India lost the match because the players were inexperienced. But this match marked the start of an amazing cricketing journey.  The very first match won by India was in 1952 against England in Chennai. The Indian cricket team showcased skills in the initial years but the consistency was lacking. The entry of legends like Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, and Bishan Singh Bedi gave a strong foundation to the team and over the years Indian cricket team started gaining recognition worldwide. 

In 1983, under the leadership of Kapil Dave, India won its very first ICC World Cup. This gave India a place in the global cricket map and people started gaining interest in the matches. Then, in 2007, India won the ICC T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Mahindra Singh Dhoni. Again in 2011, India won the World Cup.
